The Green Lantern

Green Lantern has a ring. His ring is known as the most powerful weapon in the universe.

Depending on his willpower and imagination, the Green Lantern can do almost anything. He has used his ring to hypnotize people, become invisible, to pass through objects, to heal, to fly, to paralyze his enemies, and even to time travel.

He has all the power he needs.

I had a dream that correlated the Green Lantern and his ring power to God’s people who had received the gift of the holy spirit.

We have everything we need to be a light.

You will reap more than you think you’ll reap.

We are supplied with what we need to step out in faith.

When you step out, God will give you more anointing.

Your act of faith will be more impacting than you will realize.

Fear is what makes the Green Lantern weak. If his enemy can talk him down and mess with his mind he is defeated.

The ring’s weakness is in the mindset of the wearer.

“The ring didn’t see that you were fearless. It saw you could overcome fear. It saw that you’re courageous. Which you are.” -Carol Ferris.

Submit your mind to God everyday.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corinthians 10:5

Like the Green Lantern, WE have to greatest gift in the universe. We have the holy spirit dwelling in us. Working in our everyday lives.

Just Do It!

If you’re feeling to do something to encourage someone. Just do it. Let the Spirit lead you.

Our flesh can make many excuses of why we shouldn’t get up earlier to pray. Or why we shouldn’t ask that person if they would like prayer.

The world is waiting for hope. We have the answer. Jesus.

“One step of action will have a rippling effect of other actions.” – Victor Jackson

God is calling you to step out.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 1:8 KJV

Called to Pray for America

On October 30th I went to sleep after a long day. We were tired after packing up and loading the UHaul truck with our boxes, appliances, and furniture. The next day we would say goodbye to our home of almost 7 years and embark on a new adventure.

The next morning at 4 am, I awoke to an audible voice say my name. “Tonya.” I was not scared. I had complete peace. (I would have freaked normally.)

When I heard my name I smiled. I was in awe. I crawled out of bed (literally because our 2-year-old was asleep next to me and my husband.)

I entered my “prayer closet” (my living room on my couch with a cup of coffee.)

I prayed to God, “Speak Lord, your servant is listening.” Like Samuel did when he heard the Lord say his name 3 times in 1 Samuel chapter 3.

As I prayed, my husband joined me. He knelt on his knees beside my feet. Soon after, I felt a strong urge to pray for America.

We began to “stand in the gap” for America. Interceding for our Beautiful Country.

We began to ask God to forgive us as a nation. For hatred, divorce, cheating, lying, bitterness, killing our children, stealing, our pridefulness, our arrogance… Etc..

We began to worship and praise him. We told Him how much we need him and LOVE Him.

We prayed for America fervently. And it was like we weren’t alone in our living room. I had peace.

I just want to tell you, God has this election. He is in control.

No matter the outcome. He’s got us.

Since you have plundered many nations, all the peoples who remain will plunder you — because of human bloodshed and violence against lands, cities, and all who live in them. Woe to him who dishonestly makes wealth for his house to place his nest on high, to escape from the reach of disaster! You have planned shame for your house by wiping out many peoples and sinning against your own self. For the stones will cry out from the wall, and the rafters will answer them from the woodwork. Woe to him who builds a city with bloodshed and founds a town with injustice! Is it not from the Lord of Hosts that the peoples labor only to fuel the fire and countries exhaust themselves for nothing? For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord ’s glory, as the waters cover the sea.
Habakkuk 2:8‭-‬14 HCSB

Justice will be served. Sin will be exposed.

Our HOPE is in Jesus. He will reign. His Glory will be so brilliant in the world. God is going to pour out His Spirit like nothing we have ever seen before. And He’s going to do it through YOU and me as channels He can work through.

Jesus, help America come to your Light. Forgive our sin. Heal our land. In Your name we pray Amen.

Enabling and Equipping

We visited Milwaukee County Zoo last week. We entered the cat area where the gorgeous cheetah dwelled. She paced back and forth…Over and over. She had walked the same path so much that her paws had killed the grass and what was once soft green grass was now a smooth dusty thin pathway.

We read the facts sign about cheetahs. Did you know? Cheetahs can run up to 60 miles per hour!

My daughter asked me, “Is that fast? I want to see the cheetah run.”

Sadly, I realized the cheetah didn’t have enough room to even skip let alone run at 60 miles per hour.

This cheetah couldn’t run at all. She could only pace back and forth in front of the tall glass window where we stood waiting for her to do something interesting.

She was limited…

Only man can remove the limitations of the cheetah. Only God can remove our limitations.

God is an equipping God. He ALWAYS has more for us. He ALWAYS has better for us.

We just need the desire to be more.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Ephesians 3:20

The cheetah was at the mercy of man. She wasn’t equipped with what she needed TO BE ALL that she was meant to be.

We fall short. God enables and equips us to be what He has called us to be.

We are simply NOT enough.

We need the help of God, it’s called GRACE. We need Him to change us from the inside out. We need him to open our eyes to see ourselves the way HE sees us.

Once we are all in for Him, He’ll take you further than you ever thought possible.

He will equip you for what He has in store.

Don’t give up yet. He’s got You! Reach for Him!

Pray with me: God, I give you permission to work on me. Help me see the way You see me. Nobody’s idea of me matters except for how You view me. Enable me to be the person (mom, wife, friend, leader, employee) You want me to be. Equip me with the right character, integrity, honesty, and love I need to impact my world. I make you KING of my life. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Disruption

I’d like to share a story of the last trip we took to Cliffside Campground in Southeastern Wisconsin.

My family and I went camping (in a tent, we rough it, so we appreciate our comfy beds when we return home.) My two youngest brothers joined us.

We had a long day of walks and playing at the playground.

The entire stay we heard an obnoxious rooster in the background, I’ll talk about him in a moment.

I think cooking our meals outside is fun. I enjoy serving my family as they gather around the picnic table when everyone has worked up an appitiete and is excited to eat.

One of our favorite things about camping is roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire.

I stayed up with my brothers around the campfire later than usual. They made me laugh with their crazy rap songs, dances, and their innocent ideas of the world.

I explained to Teyt (my 9 year old brother) why it would be a bad idea to eat more than 4 S’mores.

All day we heard this rooster “cock-a-doodle-doo ing” at a nearby Farm. It wasn’t different at night because at 2:00 in the morning this rooster was still crowing.

I just wanted to sleep. I wanted him to stop sounding the alarm for a good morning. It was still dark it was just after midnight. There was no daybreak. There was no dawn. It was black outside except for the full moon that night.

It reminds me of how dark our world is today. In darkness God is still calling out. The Spirit is also still calling out to wake up the church and tell his people (and anyone who will listen and obey) that it’s time to rise up and be ready for his coming. Like the 10 virgins who waited for their groom to come, 5 had enough oil in their lamps the other 5 did not.

That annoying rooster on our camping trip made me think of an alarm of the spirit going out to the world to wake up those who are sleeping spiritually.

We don’t want to be bothered. We want to roll over and go back to “sleep”.

We enjoy doing the things we’re doing. We don’t want to be disrupted. We want to continue in our rest.

The urgency of the call is persistent. It’s continual, because the time is come for the world to wake up and know the Lord’s coming is drawing close.

We have a work to do. We should be urgent to put down this flesh and walk in the spirit. Allowing Him to work through us.

This rooster wouldn’t keep quiet! It was relentless! All I wanted was some beauty sleep. I needed to rest.

I knew my kids would be up with the sun and they require much of my strength and effort throughout the day.

And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. Romans 13:11-14

Lord wake us up. Help us be diligent with the time we are given. Help us put down our “wants” and focus on what really matters. Connecting to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. It’s about people. Not things. It’s all about people.

The Spirit is constantly calling. If you get quiet with Jesus you will hear His voice.

The closer we get to Jesus the more we desire Him and the easier it is to pray and be in His Word.

God is calling today. Do you hear it? Will you respond to the call?
